NMRA RALLIES MEMBERSHIP SUPPORT OF MIAMI SHOW
The issues threatening the 2016 Miami International Boat Show have not been resolved. On Dec. 15, 2015, the Miami-Dade County Commissioners will decide on an environmental permit issue that has been delayed by those opposing the show. NMRA sent its members a call-to-action asking for their participation.
"Not only does the success of the show bring jobs and prosperity to south Florida, but it impacts our industry in a very meaningful way," said NMRA president Rob Gueterman. "Many of our members are exhibitors or conduct business at the show, so it's important to demonstrate our support." The event generates more than $30M in tax revenue and supports 6,500 local families through employment directly related to the event.
NMRA members, many of whom signed an online petition supporting the show, were encouraged to attend the meeting. They will have one minute to explain to the county commissioners why the event matters to them.
A non-profit member organization, NMRA serves marine industry independent sales reps and the manufacturers who sell through reps. It functions as an industry voice, networking tool and information source, promoting the benefits of utilizing independent sales reps.
