Tidings Fall 2021

View From The Bridge
The Board of NMRA strives to increase the visibility of our organization in the Marine Industry. NMRA has a permanent seat on NMMA’s MACD Board to help assist our Industry with critical insights on the marine market from the Manufacturers’ Representative position and to help foster growth for our affiliates and member representatives businesses as well as the Marine Industry as a whole. Please reach out to our Board with your suggestions, comments, insights to help move our organization forward as a voice in the Industry – Craig Cochran (GSW & Associates), Secretary, NMRA

Rep Night @IBEX Will Not Be Held This Year
Out of an abundance of caution, after the responses that we have received from our valued affiliates and after several calls that we have received from member agency principals, the Board of the NMRA has decided to cancel Rep Night for 2021.

While this is a huge disappointment for everyone, the health and safety of our members and supply chain partners comes first. The last thing we would want is for anyone to get ill from COVID-19 and associate this with our function.

NMRA still plans to have a significant presence at IBEX, including the presentation of the 2021 Mel Barr award at the all-industry breakfast and the presentation of the 2021 Old Pro award at the general membership meeting. The NMRA booth (3-523) will be providing information to attendees seeking representation and also serve as a quiet space for NMRA members to hold small, impromptu meetings and/or rest tired feet.

Introducing The NMRA Mission Statement
The NMRA Board recently adopted the following Mission Statement to help guide your association’s path forward now and in the future. “The mission of the National Marine Representatives Association is to promote a unified working relationship between its representatives, our affiliate suppliers and the Marine Industry.”

2021 NMRA scholarship winner Xavier Bedell

Xavier Bedell of Brimley, MI is the 2021 recipient of the $3,000 NMRA scholarship. He’ll be attending the Great Lakes Boat Building School this fall. “I want to thank the National Marine Representatives Association for choosing me to receive this scholarship, which will help offset the costs of attending the GLBBS and allow me to pursue my career in the boating industry,” Xavier said.
